Residential customers in Adelaide can start their solar journey with a 3kW system costing approximately $2,540. For larger homes with higher energy demands, systems up to 13kW are available for around $9,000.
Commercial customers looking to make the most of their energy savings can invest in systems like a 100kW installation, which typically costs up to $90,000.
Solar prices have become highly competitive, offering excellent value for South Australian homeowners and businesses, along with significant energy savings over time.
Feed-in tariffs in South Australia have decreased due to the state’s abundant renewable energy generation. On average, you can expect a feed-in tariff of about $0.05 per kWh.
At Rite Price Solar, we recommend installing a system that aligns with your daytime energy consumption to maximise self-usage. If you’re considering producing excess energy, pairing your solar panels with a battery is a smart choice to store and use that energy later.
Single-phase homes: The maximum inverter size is 10kW, with an export limit of 5kW. Without a battery, you can install up to 13.2kW of solar panels. With a battery, the limit increases to 20kW on a 10kW inverter.
Three-phase homes: You can install up to 30kW of inverters and 60kW of solar panels if paired with a battery, or 39.6kW if solar only.
These limits ensure grid stability while allowing you to optimise energy generation and storage.
The No Solar No Worries solution is ideal for homes and businesses unable to install solar panels. This innovative approach allows you to install a battery and charge it during the day using cheap wholesale energy prices, available from retailers like LocalVolts.
By storing energy during low-cost periods and using it when energy prices are higher, you can enjoy significant savings without needing solar panels on your property.
AC Coupled Batteries: Ideal for homes with an existing solar system using a string inverter. In this setup, a hybrid inverter is connected separately to the battery system. However, AC coupling is slightly less efficient at storing solar energy in your battery.
DC Coupled Batteries: A more efficient option where the existing inverter is replaced with a hybrid inverter, allowing solar panels and batteries to connect seamlessly. This option is ideal for systems larger than 5kW on single-phase homes or for those looking to maximise efficiency.
For most scenarios, DC coupling provides the best performance and energy savings.
Yes! With advanced three-phase hybrid inverters like those from Sungrow, you can enjoy full three-phase backup during grid outages.
If you already have a three-phase solar system, we recommend a DC-coupled setup to connect your solar panels and battery for optimal results. This configuration ensures seamless energy management and backup capabilities.
Absolutely! Rite Price Solar provides a range of flexible finance options for solar and battery packages. Additionally, many major banks in South Australia offer "green loans," allowing you to spread the cost of your system over a longer period while enjoying lower energy bills.
Our team can guide you in choosing the right finance plan to make your solar investment even more accessible.
Yes, solar remains highly worthwhile in South Australia. While government-funded feed-in tariffs offering up to 52c per kWh are no longer available, solar system costs have dropped significantly.
For example, a 4kW system that once cost $20,000 now costs around $3,500. Additionally, you can invest in a complete solar and battery package for about the same price as early solar-only systems—delivering excellent returns and long-term energy savings.
At Rite Price Solar, we’ve made it easy to choose and purchase the perfect solar and battery system online, eliminating the hassle of dealing with pushy salespeople. Here’s how it works:
Explore & Select: Browse our full range of solar and battery packages online, all including standard installation. Use our advanced tools to find the best system for your needs.
System Design: After selecting a package, our qualified solar and battery design engineer will perform a suitability assessment and create a customised system design.
Onsite Inspection: We arrange an onsite inspection anywhere in South Australia to ensure your property is installation-ready.
Approval & Installation: Once you approve the design and price, we handle all formalities, including SA Power Networks approvals, and schedule your installation.
Our streamlined process ensures a smooth, transparent experience from start to finish.
Our standard installation covers everything needed for a straightforward solar or battery setup, provided your property meets the following criteria:
For Solar Installations:
Property is located within 50km of the Adelaide CBD.
Installation on a single-storey iron or Colorbond roof with up to 2 panel arrays.
Standard flat ceiling with enough space to run cables between the roof and ceiling.
A meter isolator already present on the property.
Adequate space in the switchboard to install the necessary breakers.
For Battery Installations:
Adequate space in the switchboard, with wiring compliant with current codes.
Up to 10m of cabling from the switchboard to the battery location.
Our team will ensure the installation is efficient, compliant, and tailored to your property’s needs.
If additional work is required, we’ll let you know during the onsite inspection.
If your property falls outside our standard installation criteria, don’t worry! After you’ve selected your desired system, we’ll assess your home during the suitability assessment and onsite inspection.
Any additional installation requirements will be calculated and included in your official design and quote. Most adjustments involve only a minor increase in price and are unlikely to deter you from proceeding with your solar or battery installation.
We’re committed to providing clear and transparent pricing, ensuring there are no surprises along the way.
